In July 2008 I had the privilege of teaching a workshop on children's book writing with Lisa Rowe Fraustino at the Graduate Institute of Children's Literature at National Taitung University in Taiwan.
Lisa (in orange), me, Lisa's husband, Jeff, and our wonderful students.
One day we drove into the forest to feed wild monkeys.
Lisa, Jeff, and I pose on the old Japanese bridge looking out toward the Pacific Ocean.
While we were there, a typhoon struck Taiwan. The waves were amazing.
On the day we left Taitung, I posed for this farewell picture with our terrific grad student assistants, Winnie and Robert (Pon-Pon).
